Next Season Is Ours! Who do we buy?
King Kenny told us that the spat between him and the agitated Arsene Wenger was "a conversion between two managers" and that we should not worry about it. Instead we should focus on the fact the he had two teenagers playing as full backs. Indeed the speedy Theo Walcott found the going tough against our Mr Robinson. The fact young Jay Spearing was also on the pitch made me think the future looked bright and red for our team and club. The sight of the skilfull Sterling close to the bench made me see a 19th league truimph.
This season went to the hogs...i mean dogs long before the new year celebrations started. We all know how and why so we will not waste resources on that. However what we can do is look to next season. As usual the rumour mill will grind out the various players that will supposedly make their way to Anfield. We, as the fans, will also be putting in our two pence as to who should join this great club of ours. I would rather focus on what we already have in our ranks. To this end I have endeavoured to watch as many Academy games as technology allows me. Let me just say that in my most humble opinion we have some very gifted youngsters at Melwood. The afore mentioned Messers Sterling, Spearing, Flanagan, Robinson, Morgan are all first team material. There is a young man called Souso who has a commanding presence in the midfield. Morgan looks like a natural born scorer who could easily take dear old Ngog`s place on the bench. Honestly, we could actually save ourselves Mr Henry`s money and not buy a single player during the off-season AND still have a much better season than we had this time around.
I hope Insua and Aquilani come back, although it seems highly unlikely the Italian will ever put on our beautiful jersey. If we do not get back the players that were so spectacularly discarded by that man who loves caressing his chin, then I think we have enough to not only mount a serious challenge but win the title!
A solid backline with the addition of Flanagan and Robinson. A fluid midfield with Souso and a much improved Lucas. Not to mention a very potent strikeforce with Morgan as back up. I rest my case.

Is There Enough Depth?

Johnson has played left back a few times already this season. He has not done badly, but he is more of a threat on the right, in my most humble opinion. We`ve also had to use Daniel Agger and dear old Jamie Carragher as left backs. So for me there is definitely a need to get another left back. It is all rather frustrating when you think that Arne Riise is still playing top class football and Insua was let go by that very experienced manager who almost got us relegated!
King Kenny has given Spearing and Jonjo good exposure in the midfield. I would like to see more of Suso and we have the exciting Ecclestone on loan(or did Hedgehog sell him?).Millies has proven to be an excellent foil for Stevie G, meaning that we have not seen as many of those life changing performances as we normally have the honour of watching from our skipper. We do seem to have a lot of midfielders in the squad, maybe it`s just a matter of the likes of Maxi and Joe Cole stepping it up a bit. Joe Cole is actually reminding of that man Keane. I would not be surprised if we sold him again at the end of this season. In fact I would not be disappointed. The problem, for me anyway, is on the right side of midfield Dirk gets through a lot of work there but is not your usual speedy winger. I think the Dutchman is more dangerous playing as a striker, especially when played together with that very dangerous man from Uruguay. I have seen a young man from the youth team, I think his name is Sterling, who looks very good on the ball and can be used on the right.
Let us not discuss the strikeforce.
